Loving things that are very different from one another, both in the extremes has always been my thing. From philosophical concepts to music genres and from clothes to art movements...I have'em all. Perhaps that's because of who I am - not the type of person that can settle on one thing, but an explorer.
For example - I can't just draw all day long even if I love drawing - I love photography too, love studying Art History, adore fashion design and making sketches, I'm into graphic design but I also love reading - from history to French poetry bring them all, I also love writing maybe more than reading, I'm interested in forensics and UFOs, cosmology and the theory of multiverse, I'm a Christian but I dig Buddhism and believe in a possible reincarnation, I hate high heels but I sometimes love them, I hate natural fur and can't even touch it but I love leather and so on. I've always had jobs that involved doing many different tasks - settling on one simple task is fun and useful but boring in the long run - a one man show is my thing. It is just who I am and what I love: bring me variety, I AM ECLECTISM. Ok, I don't need variety in my love life - I love my husband and I'm also a vegetarian for almost ten years so let's keep these as they are.
Remember the concept of Homo Universalis? Well, Homo Universalis or a polymath is a person whose expertise spans a significant number of different subject areas; such a person is known to draw on complex bodies of knowledge to solve specific problems. I am talking about Renaissance humanism - humans are limitless in their capacity for development, this concept led to the notion that people should embrace all knowledge and develop their capacities as fully as possible. This is expressed in the term "Renaissance man"—often applied to the gifted people of that age who sought to develop their abilities in all areas of accomplishment: intellectual, artistic, social, and physical. Ok, call me a nerd but this is something I'm after. YOLO. Or maybe not? Explore, experience, learn, repeat.
Just like that, when it comes to more superficial matters like the way I dress - oh well, I might just get the word "eclectism" tattooed on my forehead. I would never wear joggers out unless I'm jogging or unless they are...FentyXPuma. I am not a sucker for sportswear as outerwear unless you're involved in a physical activity that requires a proper equipment, but as I am an explorer I put together an outfit that's equally fresh, comfy, cool and even sophisticated: vintage CK tee, lace-up joggers from FentyXPuma that show a fair amount of skin, a sleek velvet blazer and some really funky accessories from RoseGal: a bag with an awesome chain plus flame detail and these gorgeous sock boots.
